Service Description

A community circle of old school letter writing, written expression, and the enjoyment of pen to paper. An intentional gathering to promote a slower pace, human connection, and time away from our digital lives. This event is organized by Tokyo Unplugged Village as a community event to promote quality human interaction and less screen time. Join us in the lovely Community Cafe of Impact HUB Tokyo located near Meguro station. Bring your favorite pens, ink, writing utensils, stationary, postcards, and papers for a fun, reflective and engaging activities around the lost art of letter writing and written expression. We will also have extra materials on hand for those who may need. This event is free to attend with one drink purchased at the cafe upon arrival. REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Those who preregister for this gathering will receive a complementary UNPLUGGED mini nap sack to store your smart phone away for when you want to intentionally engage in life without your device! This event is coordinated/facilitated by Michelle, owner and founder of Slow Life Experience and the Japan-based Director for Unplugged Collaborative/Global Day of Unplugging Movement. She offers community connection events focused on slowing down and connecting in with self and others. ABOUT OUR PARTNERING LOCATION Impact HUB Tokyo is part of the Impact HUB Global network, a global community of entrepreneurs seeking to create social impact. Since opening in 2013, they have provided a community co-working space for a diverse range of entrepreneurship, working styles, industries and cultures, bringing together many entrepreneurs and start-ups, freelancers, artists, intrapreneurs and NPO leaders from Japan and abroad, and continues to foster collaboration between its members. From 2022, it became an incubation center accredited by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and offers entrepreneurial support. In 2023, it launched a café, “Communita Cafe”, which is not only open to the community but allows locals, neighbors, entrepreneurs and freelancers come together.
